If you want to have an amazing website, you need to focus on your photos. Here are some mistakes to avoid:
Random vacation photos from your iPhone don’t make great website photos. The photos you include on your website should be intentional and meant to connect with your dream clients. Make sure that your photos project the image that you want to represent your business.
You don’t need a LOT of photos for your website, but you need a few high-quality ones. Investing in a professional brand photo shoot is one of the best ways to uplevel the quality of your website.
Everyone loves full-screen hero images at the top of their website 🙂
But if you want to do that, you need a photographer that understands how to leave a lot of space around the subject of the photo.
If you try use a photo that’s cropped too tight, it’s going to cut off your head on certain screen sizes, or the words are going to go right in front of your face. And that’s just awkward.
So if you want to use big, full screen photos, you need to plan for that type of layout ahead of time.
One of the best ways to connect with potential clients who visit your website is to actually show them who you are in a photo. You need to have at least a few photos that show some of your personality. Look friendly. Smile. 😁
I know it might seem awkward to you, but think about yourself looking at other people’s websites. I’m always super interested to see to see people in photos. And it’s one of the key ways that you will connect with your clients through your website, so don’t avoid it.
