When you’re choosing fonts for your website, stick to google fonts. They’re free, they work well on all devices, and there are more than enough to find a combo to create the look you are going for.
The only thing you need to worry about is that it’s clear and easy to read. Choose a sans serif font. Here are my 3 go-to choices:
Montserrat – total classic, you can’t go wrong with this font
Poppins – simple, unadorned, modern
Nunito – slightly more feminine, but still sans serif
These are the fonts that will convey your style, so choose one that goes with the look you want to project:
Belleza – sophisticated and stylish
Playfair Display – classic serif font
Calistoga – fun boho vibe
Oswald – modern and minimal
Save these for key words or phrases, like ‘welcome’… I like to use script fonts in places on my site where I’m interjecting a word or phrase, like I’m speaking directly to my reader. Admittedly, google doesn’t have the prettiest script fonts, but here are 2 that work:
Dancing Script – one of the easiest-to-read script fonts
La Belle Aurore – a more hand-written look, but still readable
